Senior VP, Client Support Services, IT (2006 to Present)
- Developed IT strategic planning, addressing priorities such as Business Intelligence, Enterprise Content Management and support for our website re-design including Online Banking, broadened and deepened the relationships between IT and all other company units, managed critical third party vendor relationships including all core processing for the bank by Metavante, assessed existing and emerging technology solutions, such as electronic payments initiatives and coordinated all automation efforts across business lines. Managed three units:
- A team of 6 business liaisons providing the analysis of user requirements, facilitating business process re-engineering efforts, and responsible for over 40 projects concurrently such as eBanking, website re-design and a new content management system (Crown Peak), document imaging and electronic workflows (Oracle I/PM), lending origination with auto-decision (Equifax APPRO), contact management and referrals (Harland Encore, Metavante ECM and Strategix), data warehousing and web based delivery of intelligence (Crystal Enterprise/Business Objects, Microsoft Reporting Services), data integration, support for healthcare and mobile payments.
- A team of 8 developers and a manager supporting most applications across the organization coding in XML and other markup languages, CSS, C#, Java and J2EE, .Net, VB6, ASP, COBOL, and working with a variety of programs, reporting tools and applications such as Visual Source Safe, Crystal and Business Objects, Cognos, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, FlashMX, Oracle I/PM (imaging and workflow), Kofax Ascent Capture, ColdFusion, Site Executive and Crown Peak, Apache Server, Tomcat, Linux, JIRA, and other open source software.
- A team of 7 DBAs and a manager supporting over 50 databases organization wide, primarily SQL, with experience in Oracle, and working with stored procedures, DTS 2000, MySQL, MS Access, SSIS 2005 and SSAS 2005, Microsoft Reporting Services, Embarcadero, Crystal Enterprise and others.
VP, Application Development Manager and Client Support Analyst, IT (2004 to 2006)
- Managed development and support of consumer and small business loan origination applications. Significant projects included automating credit report pulls, title, flood and appraisal processing, credit score migration and credit risk reporting, express direct and online applications, automated decision making for Lending Tree applications and out-of-footprint lending with remote delivery of settlement packages.
- Hands-on experience with system coding and SQL database administration, application, database and web server configuration, trouble-shooting, load testing.
VP, Strategic Directions (2001 to 2003)
- Managed special projects of significant economic value and impact such as re-engineering the wire transfer process to handle a 120% volume increase, delivering better service with improved risk management, and implementing image statements (with Metavante and Fidelity/Aurum).
- Served as the bank’s float manager, conducted an extensive analysis and negotiated with our external item processor, the local clearing house, LPSI and the Fed to modify sort patterns, improve pick-up and delivery times and maximize availability. This resulted in additional revenue and cost savings totaling close to $400,000 annually.
VP, Mortgage Information Services (1995 to 1999)
- Managed system administrators supporting the bank’s mortgage and consumer information systems and provided direct hands-on system administration myself, including WAN support across several states, and obtaining a Novell IntranetWare CNA certification. Implemented a laptop loan origination system, fully integrated with loan processing and FNMA’s Desktop Underwriter system.
VP, Mortgage Servicing and Loan Customer Service (1992 to 1995)
- Managed three managers responsible for mortgage servicing, research and customer service and the implementation of an IBM document imaging system, with workflows, resulting in a benefit of close to $500,000 a year.
- Supported the conversion of all deposit, loan and general ledger systems bank wide to a service bureau core processor, the M&I (now Metavante) Integrated Banking System.
VP, Total Quality Management (1990 to 1992)
- Created and managed the Total Quality Management department, reporting directly to the President. I facilitated process improvement sessions bank wide, and created and implemented programs such as awards programs and a process enabling back office employees to switch places with customer-facing employees for a day. Managed the project to implement the first voice response system at the bank.
Additional Work Experience
- Includes end user support, including desktop support, in the development and implementation of a $3 million HRIS at Maryland National Bank, report coding in Crystal, proprietary tools and RAMIS. I have also worked with JCL and mainframe programs as part of my original training in operations management.
